Our Story

Another Day Begins was set-up to continues Alan Briefel’s generous energy and to create something positive from the tragedy of his leaving us too soon.

It’s a community-led social-impact movement dedicated to fostering connection through shared breakfasts. Inspired by that simple morning phrase and driven by Dad’s warmth and generosity, we’re here to tackle hunger and loneliness - one breakfast at a time.

We’re partnering with fantastic organisations doing incredible work:

The Trussell Trust food bank, whom I’ve worked with before. They provide vital parcels to those in need. And in recent times with the cost of living crisis, this need has been growing rapidly.

St. Luke’s Community Centre, in the heart of Islington where Dad’s beloved Arsenal is based - creating beautiful meals, activities, and support systems for the isolated and vulnerable.

Join us in turning mornings into moments of community and care.

Every morning when we were kids, my dad used to wake us up and say, “Another day begins.”

It was just a silly, playful thing - but now it embodies a mindset he had.

Dad approached each day with childlike excitement and an incredible ability to find joy in the little things.
